100Days 100Drawings

100Days 100Drawings is a project completed during the pandemic of 2020/2021. It is designed to bring a new piece of art to my social media fan base on instagram and facebook when most people were sheltering at home and not interacting with art at galleries, museums or general public art. I felt that art is an important element for people to interact with and when it became inaccessible, I reached out to share it in the best way I knew how. For one hundred days I drew and posted a new piece of art. Not only was there a new art piece each day for my followers to enjoy, but I also made a board that each piece was added to everyday, creating a greater whole, collective piece of art. The individual art pieces are designed to interact with each other and be arranged and oriented in any changing manner so that each day I rearranged the collective whole sharing a new drawing and a new collective drawing on the board. The heart of this piece is about connections. Some drawings make a connection with positive space and some with negative while some of the connections are not perfect transitions they speak to the story of establishing one. This drawing board as a whole can be arranged to create negative and positive spaces that change, flow and stop. One of its most interesting qualities is that of the one hundred 6” x 6” pieces, they all can be oriented in any direction and still have some sort of connection with any piece on each of its four sides. This body of work can be collected for its 100 pieces or by select pieces comprising a smaller juried version in formats of squares, rectangles or crossword in presentation. Connections come in all forms.
